This is John Forrest's operation in Central Otago. Daniel loved the 2008, and this is the current release 2009. Honeyed fruit on the nose- fresh honey with stone fruits and citrus. It's crisp, clean and really tangy, carrying some residual sugar. It's off-dry with ripe melon and pear fruits, allied to gentle spice and citrus acidity. It's very attractive and easy drinking, it needs food with gentle spice and would probably work well with some terrines. Well balanced and very easy drinking, i would have liked to see a touch less sugar and a touch more acidity though.
