KT & The Falcon have been getting some great press, this wine scoring 96 points in the 2011 James Halliday Australian Wine Companion. From a single vineyard, 36 years old and made in an off-dry style. 12 grammes per litre sugar. Lime and nectarine with red apple and a touch of petrol on the nose. It's crisp and tight, with red apple and lime, although starting to close up on the finish. The more i try these off-dry styles the more i believe they need to be drunk seriously young, less than 18 months, or left for several years. This is clearly a very good wine but i feel is shutting down, and the sugar is tightening the finish. Would love to see this in 5+ years.
