Pizzini
Verduzzo, 2009
Australia White
King Valley, Victoria 75cl
Not tried many Verduzzo's and certainly not from Australia. This comes from Pizzini, Italian varietal specialists. A small part is fermented and aged in new French oak barriques for 8 weeks. Attractive, lifted nose of ripe citrus with hints of stone fruit, ripe apple and pear too. It's got good weight and is really fresh and tangy. Ripe apple, citrus and pear on the palate with some spice and just a hint of oak. It's an attractive, interesting white and whilst lovely on it's own would also work well with fish, pasta and lightly spiced Asian influenced dishes.
