Escarpment Vineyards
Pinot Blanc, 2009
New Zealand White
Martinborough 75cl
A delicious debut release from Martinborough. Made in a just off-dry style just 4gms/litre residual sugar, it has an attractive nose of honeyed pear, pineapple and ripe apple with a touch of citrus. It's a lively style with ripe pineapple, apple and citrus fruit, limey acidity and a honeyed finish with just a hint of spice. Baked apple flavours also spring to mind, however it's very attractive. It's youthful and fresh and will make a good food style that acidity leads me and the winery to believe it will age well for a few years taking on a honeyed and possibly nutty character.
