Stephane Aviron
Beaujolais Villages, 2007
France Beaujolais
Appellation Beaujolais Controlee 75cl
The 2006 Fleurie from Aviron was one of my wines of 2008 (sadly fallen by the wayside due to the exchange rate) so I was hoping this would be pretty good.
Pale in the glass with attractive cherry, bery fruits on the nose. The palate is also nicely balanced with more red fruit and just the right amount of acidity . It does seem to fall just a little short on the finish but on a warm day with this slightly chilled it would be great (shame I'm tasting this in the Feb 09 cold snap)
Also have a feeling this is now probably nudging £10 a bottle when £8 would represent good value
