Quinta de la Rosa Branco
, 2007
Portugal
Douro 75cl
A really interesting white from Quinta de la Rosa who really have upped there game in making great non-port wines. This is an intriguing blend of local varieties. 60% Viosinho, 40% mixed Douro varities: Rabigato, Gouveio, and Codega da Larinho. Hand picked and matured in French barriques. Nutty on the nose, nice oak and some stone fruits, touch of herb too. It's rich and mouthfilling with tangy stone fruits, a touch of raspberry and oak. Again a hint of herb. Really tangy and fresh with zesty fruits, good acidity and nice oak. It's a lovely characterful wine taht's just that little bit different.
