Pagos De Araiz
Crianza, 2004
Spain Red
Navarra 75cl
A fleshy blend of Tempranillo (60%) Cabernet (20%) and Merlot. It's quite dark in colour and on the heavy side of medium bodied. This has plenty of purple plum and berry fruit and fruit cake and a little oak on the finish. On the down side this has a large amount of a very fine granular deposit (unattractive rather than a defect)
Tasty, Fruit driven and well packaged
Also ran 2007 Rosado.
A Grenache-Cabernet blend
struggled with this and found the nose oddly savoury almost cured meat smelling.
Hard to get past that and spoilt any enjoyment i might have got from the wine
