Castello di Ama Chianti Classico
I tried a good value Chianti Classico 2004 last night. This comes from the well known Castello di Ama winery. Warm cherry and berry with spice and dried herbs on the nose. It's rich and full of sweet cherry fruit, both red and black cherry with dried herbs,a touch of oak, cedar and some tannins. It's young but has a great wealth of fruit to suggest this will improve over the next 2-3 years and drink for another 7 or so. It's good, not great but a very solid example of quality Chianti Classico.
