Jim Barry 'The Lodge Hill'
Clare Valley 75cl
This is now an established shop 'ever present' since the stunning 2001 vintage. It remains great value and has only gone up .50p in four vintages (considering 17p of that is added duty its very fair)
This really rewards just a little time in the glass to open up and show its true colours. Tastes very consistent with all the previous years with its spicy, fruit cake and raisin nose and fairly full on palate that has an almost savoury finish. Hearty and warming plum, rhubarb and mixed black fruit. A touch of sweet vanilla oak on the finish too. 15% alcohol but well integrated
One of the value wines under £10 ..... yet again
