A delicious 2006 Gruner from Fritz Wieninger. This comes from the old vine Nussberg vineyard area of Vienna. Zesty and ripe nose. With honeyed citrus, pineapple and ripe lime. It's full and rich with great weight. Tangy and honeyed, it's a little primary in this just bottled phase, with a touch of banana, stone fruit and citrus. Has great weight and is so pure, fresh and clean it's hard to resist. Will age really well too.
That was back in March. Retasted in July 2007. The nose is similar, pineapple, lime, honey and a touch of necatarine- spice too. It's full rich and tangy with a real zesty energy. Full and spicy with honeyed stone fruits. Weighty and rich but with enough crispness to keep it really freh and balanced. A great food wine. Delicious now also shows huge aging potential.
