Heggies
Chardonnay, 2005
Australia White
Eden Valley 75cl
This is Yalamba's Eden Valley vineyard. The new release Heggies comes with really good new presentation. Low yielding grapes from a high altitude vineyard are hand picked, gently pressed, introduced to wild yeasts and aged in French oak for 9 months. Ripe citrus and nutty, toasty oak on the nose. It's full flavoured with lots of honeyed citrus and toasty oak. Crisp acidity and a dry long nutty finish. It's good, but at this stage lacks some palate weight and texture. This may come in time because there are lots of good points to this wine. Good now but could be really good. At £9.99 it is worth sticking a few bottles away and seeing what happens.
