Te Mata 'Woodthorpe'
Gamay Noir, 2006
New Zealand Red
Hawkes Bay 75cl
More than just an interesting curiosity, this is a delicious lighter red from Te Mata. Gamay is the grape that makes Beaujolais. This is a really juicy red. Ripe cherry on the nose. It's crunchy, fresh and vibrant. Light-medium bodied with ripe berry fruit and soft tannin. This is a really easy drinking red that worked well with some spicy food. Don't serve too warm and let the bright juicy fruit sing. Really appealing red to drink young and fresh.
