Argiano 'Solengo' 2015, Brunello Riserva 2012, Brunello 2013 Pre Release Offer

We have been fans of this great winery and selling the wines for 15 years or so.
These new releases are great. The Brunello 2013 is really quite forward and delicious, drinkable now though best decanted a few times and actually at its best in a few years. Remains a great buy.
The 2012 Riserva is available in VERY MINISCULE quantities and is fabulous and age-worthy.
Solengo is a super Tuscan which we used ro sell loads of. Not sure why off the radar! but not now and its at its very best, lovely deep berry fruits, good acidity ripe tannins and toasty oak. Impressive now but better in 5 years.

Argiano 'Solengo' IGT Toscano 2015

We have been extremely fortunate in securing a good allocation of what is perhaps the best vintage of Solengo that Argiano have ever produced, the sensational 2015. James Suckling said of it, awarding 97 points, as one of his top 100 wines of 2017:

“Fantastic aromas of flowers such as violets and roses with dark purple fruits and hints of stones, too. Full body with ultra-fine tannins and a long and linear finish. This is a return to the great Solengos of the mid-1990s. The best since 1997. Cabernet Sauvignon 50%, Petit Verdot 30%, Merlot 15% and Sangiovese 5%. Drinkable now but better in 2020.”

Argiano Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2012

"Plenty of ripe fruit with a wealth of plum and dark berry character. Rich and powerful. Full to medium body, firm and silky tannins and a flavorful finish. I love the edgy tannins at the end that give it form. Beautiful now. " 94 points James Suckling

We are also delighted to offer their stunning Brunello di Montalcino 2012 Riserva, a worthy successor to their last Riserva, the 2010. This received a pre-fermentation cold maceration, then fermentation and maceration on the skins for more than 3 weeks. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation were both in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. It was aged for at least twenty-four months in Slavonian oak casks, and then for two more years in bottle. Only 4000 bottles were made, for all 50 of their export markets.

Argiano Brunello di Montalcino 2013

"Fantastic aromas of orange peel and dark berry with plenty of plum and cherry. Sweet tobacco and mushrooms. Full body, juicy and fruity with firm tannins and a fresh finish. Complex and gorgeous. Fine and very long. Drink now." 96 points James Suckling

And thirdly, since all good things come in threes (like London buses), we are making an En Primeur offer on the new vintage Brunello di Montalcino 2013. James Suckling gave this 96 points. The wine was vinified like the Riserva 2012, but aged in French oak casks (10 and 50hl) for twenty-four months, and then several more months in bottle before release in January 2018.
