Chateau L'Ermitage Sainte Cecile Will Lyons Recommends

Recommended in The Sunday Times The Dish magazine, February 2017.

"Southwest of Avignon, this region enjoys more than 2,700 hours of sunshine a year. Made by Jerome Castillon, Chateau L'Ermitage not only possesses an abundance of warming, ripe fruit, but there is a freshness and structure to this wine"

Chateau L'Ermitage 'Cuvée Sainte Cécile' Costieres de Nimes Rouge 2013

France

A cracking new release. A blend of 45% Syrah, 45% Mourvèdre and 10% Grenache. 33% is aged in new French 400 litre oak barrels. A lovely full, rich spicy red. Lots of brambly fruit with lots of spice, full and rich yet has a lovely freshness, some creamy oak gives the wine texture and length. Really quite polished yet lost none of it's Southern French character.
