Boodle's London Dry Gin NV

Boodle''s Gin was created in 1845, by Alexander Seagram and named after thefamous Boodle''s Club in St James''s. Boodle''s is produced in the UK but only made available to the UK consumer in 2013 Boodle''s gin uses a wheat based neutral grain spirit, distilled with natural botanicals including juniper, nutmeg, fresh rosemary and sage in a rare Carter-Head still. The crisp, dry flavour relies on juniper, nutmeg, rosemary & sage, unusually no citrus is used. Makes a really refreshing G&T, I love it with lime.

Conker Dorset Dry Gin NV

This is a London Dry. Copper pot distilled in 60 bottle batches. Juniper, angelica and oris make up the classic base of this gin along with citrus from crisp lime, deep seville orange and corriander. These are combined with the herbacious Dorset notes of elderberries, samphire and foraged gorse flowers. All distilled in local water taken from a spring in the New Forest and a neutral base spirit from British Wheat. This is a gin true to a London dry with lighter notes of Dorset; The Dorset Dry. A lively, bright nose with a long, complex and well balanced mouthfeel with a barely perceptible alcohol bite.

Garden Tiger Gin NV

Garden Tiger is distilled from a recipe of 34 home grown, wild and traded ingredients, in a combination of maceration and vapour extraction. A secret recipe is there to allow the distiller to focus completely on the creation of a balanced spirit. We can at some, whether this is the delicate honey scented flowers of our native lime tree Tillia Cordata or the fresh organic blood orange zest (dried, whilst much cheaper loses all floral complexity – 2600kg of oranges were zested and preserved at the distillery in the Winter of 2016), every item is there to build and extend on a beautifully balanced flavour that changes remarkably with dilution and temperature. Blood Orange, flowers, spice, drying resins and sweetness fill the mouth. Rich and unbelievably complex, it transcends expectations of a gin. One of the best we have tasted.

Fifty Pounds Gin NV

Fifty Pounds Gin gets its name from the 1736 gin act when a 50 pound tax was levied on those wishing to produce and sell gin. (Only 2 distilleries agreed to pay it!) It is produced in a small and legendary distillery located in the south-east of London and looks as good as it tastes. It's a classic, smooth London Dry Gin and makes a fabulous G&T but also a classic Gin Martini.

Hepple Gin NV

Hepple lies in the Northumbrian hills, surrounded by juniper, pine and aromatic plants. To release the true heart of the carefully chosen botanicals, the team has reinterpreted the way a premium gin is made, adapting old techniques and pioneering new ones. The unique method reveals heightened flavour notes that are lost in the traditional process. As well as a copper pot still, the distillery at Hepple has two additional systems. A glass still utilizes vacuum distillation to capture fresh, zesty notes from local botanicals that are sourced from the surrounding hills, including from the young green juniper. Another system uses high-pressure extraction to release the intricacies of the ripe juniper berries, and thus delivers further tiers of flavour, texture and finish. Master Distiller Chris Garden explains, “By using three different processes for juniper we can layer what we could describe as the bass, the tenor and the soprano parts of what is gin’s traditional leading act.

Porter's Gin NV

International Spirit's Challenge Gold Medal Winner Josh, Ben and Alex had the collective aim of making a gin that tastes better than existing brands, is good to drink straight or with tonic, and has a subtly unique flavour. Professor Andrew Porter of the University of Aberdeen sourced a rotary evaporator which allowed the team to create the flavour they wanted through distilling alcohol with botanicals at very low temperatures, often known as cold distillation or vacuum distillation. After hundreds of tests, each of the 12 botanicals selected were only included to improve and balance the flavour of the gin. They found that Buddhas hand, a rare citrus fruit, and pink peppercorns worked extremely well with cold distillation whereas traditional botanicals generally worked better in a traditional copper pot still. For the traditional distillation the team have partnered with G&J Distillers in Warrington, England, (Est. 1761), and worked on their recipe together with them. Porters is distilled in two parts; one in Aberdeen (modern/cold distillation) and the other in Warrington (traditional/pot-still distillation), they are both then combined during bottling. The 12 botanicals used in this exquisite Gin include, buddha''s hand, pink peppercorn, lemon, orange, almond and liquorice.
