Australian Riesling - The Great 2012 Vintage - Mixed 6-Pack

2012 was just the perfect vintage for Riesling, especially in the Clare and Eden Valley's already recognised as two of the best regions in Australia for Riesling.
No rain to worry about or excessive heat, healthy fruit was harvested and the wines have a purity, a vivacity and freshness that is totally beguiling. The wines are lovely now, but will probably shut down next year, so drink over the next 12-18 months or keep, and they will age extremely well. I have included a couple of Riesling's from outside the aforementioned South Australian regions to show the regional diversity in Australia.
These are all dry and fresh, great aperitif wines alo a great match to seafood dishes and lighter Asian influenced foods.

Australian Chardonnay - The New Wave - Mixed 6-Pack

Australian Chardonnay really has come of age. Never have i tried so many brilliant wines made from Chardonnay. Balanced, fresh, complex and classy.
What's changed?
Better sites and regions have been identified, and the vineyards are using the right clones too.
Picking earlier to make fresher, crisper wines.The wines consequently are lower in alcohol, most here are 13%, some less..
Less intervention in the winery; many wines are naturally fermented now which just gives more complexity than innoculating. Partial or no malolactic fermentation- making the wines less heavy, naturally crisper. Less new oak is being used, and the oak is now predominantly French oak.
Gone are the heavy buttery wines of yesteryear. Winemakers want the wines to reflect where they are from and for the fruit and minerality to be centre stage with oak a more subtle complexing component.
Please do try these 6 wines, from 6 different cooler climate regions, they are not cheap (the exchange rate has killed that) but if you compare to European counterparts, they stack up very favourably. I hope you enjoy these superlative wines.

Australian Shiraz - Cooler Climate - Mixed 6-Pack

I love Australian Shiraz and i am delighted that there is such regional diversity now. Here i wanted to showcase some of the cooler regions, and stylistically more savoury wines.
So 6 different Shiraz from 6 largely cooler climates. (I know many of you are aware of the Barossa/McLaren Vale/Clare Valley etc so have not included any wines from these regions)
The wines are generally, though not exclusively lower in alcohol, but they are all really well balanced, nothing is over the top and these are wines that compliment food.
I have tried to pick wines that are diverse in region but also display quite a spectrum of flavours.

Australian Pinot Noir - The Lighter Side - Mixed 6-Pack

With our focus on Australian regionality, and more elegant complex wines, we had to include Pinot Noir. So here are 6 excellent Pinot Noir's coming from 5 different cooler climate regions.
Australian Pinot has improved dramatically in the last 10 years, mainly due to finding the best regions- many of which wee identified some time ago so now we are seeing vines with some age, which is of course helping to make better wines, then within this the most suitable clones, and much lighter handed winemaking - trying to make more elegant, varietal, complex Pinot Noir - not just another dry red!
This is a diverse selection, but all display regional characteristics and varietal typicity. I hope you enjoy them!

Mixed Cases May 2013

Welcome to our Spring 2013 selection; as ever, this is an extensively tasted selection and we have put together some excellent offerings, including some brand new cases this year. We do not include bin ends or off vintage wines - all our wines have been tried and tested and a huge amount of effort goes into these offerings. Please note that these can be mailed throughout the UK as well as much of the world as well! Tasting notes and gift messages (if required) can be included.

Delivery to mainland UK is £9 per order - order 1 case or 5 and delivery will still just be £9.

Occasionally, we do have to substitute a wine but it will always be of at least the same value and similar in style. Please advise if this is NOT acceptable.
