Trophy Winners 2009

For many years we have promoted the award winning wines of the International Wine Challenge. The competition is so large that over 9,500 wines were entered. Because of the size of the competition, we are focusing our feature, on just the crème de la crème! The Trophy Winners.

On Friday the 19th June the trophy winners were announced.

"The world’s most prestigious and influential independent wine competition, the International Wine Challenge (IWC), today unveiled the results of the 2009 Trophy and Great Value Wine Awards. A record 122 wines were awarded a Trophy this year, along with 13 Great Value Wine Awards.

France once more came top of the country board, with 21 wines being awarded a Trophy, followed by Australia (15) in second and Italy (12) equal third. A record eight wines from Chile were promoted to Trophy status."

This is an incredibly well run competition, I have been a senior judge for many years. Now you may of course not agree with the results, but more than anything I think it's a wonderful way of exploring new wines, it certainly prompts me as a buyer to call in samples, and where we agree we offer the wines here. Some wines have not arrived yet so be sure to check back as more wines become available. All are available by the case at a special price, and where stocks allow mix 12 bottles or more and we will give you 10% discount.

Note that prices marked as Under Bond do not include duty, VAT or shipping. If you order wines Under Bond then duty, VAT and shipping will be charged on delivery.

Is there a minimum order?

No, but delivery charges may apply, so we recommend that you order at least one full case. Orders from the Wine List must be of minimum value £150.00 to qualify for free delivery. 'Per case' delivery charges apply to Mixed Cases, New Releases and Special Offers.

Why aren't all wines for sale online?

We offer selected wines from our list for sale online, so that we can be sure of availability for quick delivery. Wines without a 'buy now' link can be purchased by contacting us.
